Work on Will Smith’s “Men in Black 3″ has been temporarily halted amid rumors the star clashed with producers about the script.

The movie, which went into preproduction here last month, has been shut down for a second time because of arguments among Smith, director Barry Sonnenfeld and the producers, sources said.

While Sony studio bosses blame the delay on a change in New York state movie incentives, our source said, ” ‘Men in Black 3′ has gone on hiatus again, this time for two weeks, after having shut down for a week and started back up. Smith, Sonnenfeld and the producers have been fighting. The start date for filming had already been put off.”

The disputes are believed to be about the script for the film, which also stars Tommy Lee Jones and will be released in 3-D.

“I Am Legend” star Smith is known for making waves. In March, he reportedly created drama on the set of his wife Jada Pinkett Smith’s TNT show “HawthoRNe.” The cast was given an eight-day hiatus after it was reported that Smith was “inserting his input and requesting so many changes to the script that it pushed back the production schedule tremendously and caused everything to spiral out of control.”

Smith was also recently blasted by his former “Fresh Prince of Bel Air” co-star Janet Hubert, who said in her book, “Perfection Is Not a Sitcom Mom,” that he “had people around him who made sure no one outshone him.”

A Sony Pictures rep told us, “The only reason production will begin in mid-November as opposed to late October is to take advantage of recent changes affecting New York State film incentives. Suggesting that a disagreement triggered the shift is complete fiction.”

Another movie source told us, “Will and Barry have worked together on numerous films and they are friends as well as creative collaborators.”

A rep for Smith didn’t respond to e-mails and calls from the media.

Still hoping that a cut to black and a Journey song won't mark the last time you ever see Tony Soprano? Don't stop believin' that a "Sopranos" movie will happen one day (though we kind of doubt it)... but take some solace in knowing that series creator-writer-producer-director David Chase is all set to roll cameras on his first feature film.

Paramount Vantage announced in a press release today that writer-director Chase will begin production on the as-yet-untitled movie, described as a "music-driven coming of age story set in 1960s suburbia," this January in New York City. Up-and-coming actors John Magaro (currently in theaters with the horror flick "My Soul to Take"), Jack Huston ("The Twilight Saga: Eclipse") and Will Brill (making his feature film debut) are set to star.

And, in welcome news for fans of Chase's HBO show, the statement also revealed that "Sopranos" star and Bruce Springsteen E Street Band member Steven Van Zandt will produce and supervise the music, as well as serve as executive producer, for the film.

"It's exciting to be working with [Paramount chief] Brad Grey again, doing my first feature," Chase said in a statement. "I look back with pleasure on our last outing. I am also thrilled to be working with Steven again, especially on this particular subject. It's not just that we both worship the same songs and bands from the era -- it's that he obviously knows so much. About every aspect. He embodies a particular spirit of a particular kind of rock and roll. He actually is that spirit."

With so many details under wraps, it's hard to know exactly what to expect from the film. But if "Sopranos" is any indication, a music-driven movie is right in Chase's wheelhouse. So many great moments in the series -- from the opening credits each week to the series' haunting final scene (set to a Journey power ballad, of all things) -- have been enhanced by song that it's hard to imagine music not being an integral part of Chase's feature debut. To paraphrase Sun Tzu in 'The Art of War": Bring it on.

The reality star with the chiseled abs was eliminated from “Dancing With the Stars” Tuesday. He and professional partner Karina Smirnoff came into the show in last place after performing an Argentine tango Monday that one judge called “a terrible mess.”

“It was consistent,” said head judge Len Goodman. “It was bad throughout.”

Sorrentino said Tuesday that he was committed to the contest and had given it his all.

“I told myself if I got eliminated today, I put it all on the floor last night,” he said. “So if it (happened), I’d bow out gracefully.”

He also said he thought the judges’ scores were unfair.

“The judges were so unpositive and didn’t even see the work I put in, didn’t even see the progress I made this week and you know what, you know what? I’m done with this,” a frustrated Sorrentino said in a clip shot Monday that aired during Tuesday’s episode.

Judges’ scores are combined with viewer votes to determine which couple is ousted each week.

Sorrentino, 29, joins previously eliminated contestants David Hasselhoff, Michael Bolton and Margaret Cho.

Tuesday’s episode also featured musical performances by the Goo Goo Dolls and Florence + The Machine and a dance performance by the cast of “Forever Tango.”

Returning to dance Monday will be actors Jennifer Grey, Kyle Massey and Florence Henderson; singer-actress Brandy; athletes Kurt Warner and Rick Fox; reality star Audrina Patridge and Bristol Palin.

Disney announced in March that it plans to shut down Robert Zemeckis' digital animation studio. Apparently "A Christmas Carol" — and its lackluster domestic box office showing — will be one of the studio's swan songs (get excited for "Mars Needs Moms," people!). Yet the closure, so it seems, will have no bearing on the status of "Yellow Submarine," Zemeckis' 3-D motion-capture reinvention of the classic Beatles cartoon.

"That will be going in April of next year, so we're gearing up for that," star Cary Elwes, who will be voicing the role of George Harrison, told MTV News at New York Comic Con, where he was promoting "Saw 3D."

Elwes is not only set to voice Harrison but will slip on that rather flattering mo-cap outfit to play the role. "It's more than a voice. We actually have to perform the roles," he said. "If you know much about motion-capture, it's not just voice-over work. You really have to perform the role."

When I asked if Elwes would be going for a straight imitation of Harrison or if he had any room to strike out into new vocal territory, the actor declined to get specific. "I can't really talk too much about it because I signed a waiver to the effect of not discussing it," he said. "But I can tell you it's going to be a really exciting film. I'm thrilled to be part of it."

He did say, though, that Harrison's family (the guitarist passed away in 2001) has been supportive of the project. "I know the family a little bit and they're very happy about it. I think the film will be really extraordinary thanks to 3-D," Elwes told us. "Today we're able to reinvent the film in a way that will be very, very exciting."

James Franco Calls 'Rise Of The Apes' A 'Frankenstein Story'

December will be a pretty sweet month for "Star Wars" aficionados, with both "Family Guy" and "Robot Chicken" rolling out third installments of their respective parodies. On the "Family Guy" front, Seth MacFarlane & Co. will be taking on "Return of the Jedi" on December 21, with "Robot Chicken" taking fans to a galaxy far, far away a week earlier on December 12.

Fans of both shows have surely noticed some level of crossover, thanks mostly to "Chicken" co-creator Seth Green who also doubles as the voice of Chris Griffin on the hit Fox series. But according to Green, "Family Guy" and "Robot Chicken" are careful to avoid any doubling of jokes when it come to George Lucas' empire.

"We're covering all the same topics without overlapping each other," Green told us at the New York Comic Con. "We're telling jokes about the same stuff but we're not telling the same jokes."

As Green explained with fellow "Chicken" collab Matthew Senreich, the shows have managed to carve out their respective niches while managing to play in the same sandbox. "They focus on the episode and then retelling the episode with the characters and then a lot of on-topic jokes," explained Green. "We just sort of show what was behind the scenes or what happened after that door closed, or what someone was thinking."

The shows will further cement that friendly relationship when "Family Guy" creator Seth MacFarlane reprises his role on "Robot Chicken" as the evil Emperor Palpatine. "We look at him as an extended part of the family," said Senreich.

"Robot Chicken: Star Wars Episode III" will air December 12 on Cartoon Network's Adult Swim.
